Wedding reception ideas: entertaining your guests!

Your wedding reception will likely be the biggest party you’ll ever throw. So be sure to think of your guests’ comfort and enjoyment and create an event so fun and so stylish, they’ll never forget it!

• Set up a photo booth with props like funny hats, wild glasses, wigs and chalkboards for guests to write messages that will appear in their photos. Guests will have a great time being creative, and you’ll have lots of photo memories to cherish.

• Include a few words to describe each guest on their place cards. They will appreciate the thought and you will have a blast describing your friends and family with words like “fashionista” or “best comedian.”

• Hire some professional dancers to offer dance lessons during your cocktail hour. Guests will have fun learning some new moves and it will get them in the mood to dance later on.

• If children will be attending the reception, set up an area just for them and include several activities like coloring, board games, movies and dress-up props.

• Satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth — set up a candy buffet! It’s a great way to get guests to interact and have fun. Choose candies in your wedding colors so the buffet blends in with your décor, and provide favor bags and boxes for guests to fill themselves.

• Set up a lounge with billiards and casino games or poker. The gambling fans on your guest list will more than appreciate this option.

• Create a quiet lounge area with couches, coffee tables and lamps for guests who would like to take a break from the music and dancing.

• Have the videographer set up a stationery camera so guests can record their own messages to the bride and groom throughout the evening.

Enjoy!
