Having a natural wedding theme doesn’t mean you have to get married in the middle of the woods. Get inspired by this real wedding couple’s birch bark wedding, which transformed a country club into a setting of natural beauty!
Val and Drew wanted a woodsy feel for their wedding, but they wanted it to be romantic and elegant, too. So they decided on birch bark as the main design element for their wedding for nature and purple and green satin accents for elegant!
Birch bark designs accented so many parts of the wedding – wedding invitations, programs, place cards and more. Even their wedding cake had a frosted birch bark design!
In keeping with the birch bark theme, Drew’s father got artistic with his saw and created the birch bark candleholders (three on each table!) and birch bark place card holders. He also built a birch bark wedding arbor for the couple to say “I do” beneath at their outdoor ceremony and free-standing birch branch arrangements dressed with fresh flowers. The handcrafted touches made the wedding even more intimate and lovely.
Valerie chose purple satin dresses and green flowers for her bridesmaids for bright contrast. She had green flowers with purple and white calla lilies in her bridal bouquet to pull the entire wedding party look together.
This beautiful wedding proves that you can have it all – nature and elegance and a day filled with love.

Love the idea of following the wedding traditions…but making them your own at the same time? You just need to do a little creative thinking!
For example, think about those wedding must-haves: wedding programs. Of course you’ll want to provide each guest with a program that lists the order of service, bridal party members and other important information.
Then take the wedding program one step further — and make it into a fan! My program fans share all the important info about your ceremony in a unique, fashionable way. Program fans are perfect for summer weddings or outdoor weddings to help keep guests informed AND cool.
You can even choose a style that showcases fun photos of you, like my Custom Accents Photo Program Fan. Add ribbon to the handle and you’ve got a unique wedding program and a keepsake guests will love!

Heading to the garden to say your vows? There are so many wedding color options to choose from! The first thing to decide on is the season of the event, and this will help you come up with a color palette and look.
I got inspired by the soft and romantic colors in Butterfly Blossoms Wedding Invitation and created a garden wedding theme based on them.
This would be the perfect wedding invitation for a spring wedding or summer wedding with natural touches. The aqua blue background on the wedding invitation can become your wedding color, with pale pink and fresh green for accents. Then look for “elegant rustic” decorating items!
Go with loose flower arrangements in galvanized pails for centerpieces and venue decorations. Then bring in things you’d find in a romantic garden – birdcages, garden gates, rope swings, vintage rakes adorned with flowers, lattice arbors – and create a unique setting for your garden wedding celebration!

When I heard about a bride who was getting away from it all and getting married in the tropics, I knew I wanted to hear everything about it – and to share all the details with you!
Amy and Jon are living in Australia and have family in England and the United States. When it came time to decide on a wedding location, they wanted something faraway and tropical, a place everyone could “meet in the middle” and relax and enjoy the celebration. The Bahamas it was!
Here are my favorite details from the event…
Bright shades of blue were the colors of the day – from the bridesmaids’ dresses to the cake accents and favors. Even Nassau, the town where the wedding was held, had bright blue accented houses to match the mood!
Amy chose a strapless, floaty dress for the beach wedding. A flower in her hair and pearl earrings were the only accents she needed to be the perfect beach bride.
Starfish designs accented not only the gorgeous wedding cake but also the personalized napkins and lidded favor boxes. These small details are perfect for a destination wedding because napkins and favor boxes are easy to order ahead of time and take up almost no room in the suitcase.
Dinner was outside under a grass-roofed shelter hung with billowing white curtains for tropical romance, and guests feasted on fresh local fish, shrimp and lobster. Fabric that matched the bridesmaids’ dresses was tied around the backs of the chairs to personalize the space and add a splash of color.
After the festivities were over and family and friends left, Amy and Jon spent another 10 days in the Bahamas for a relaxing honeymoon in paradise.
Congratulations, Amy and Jon! And thanks for letting me share your wedding with other Jean M brides.

It’s that cold and bleak time of year when our thoughts are turning toward tropical getaways — and some of us are planning destination weddings in warm and wonderful locations!
So we searched for the most colorful invitation we could find to brighten our spirits and to inspire you in your wedding plans.
Our Tropical Floral Invitation features bold flowers perfect for a wedding in paradise or a celebration closer to home with tropical flair. And we love the way the colors are mixed up throughout the ensemble: fuchsia for the invitation, aqua for the reception card, white for the response card and gold for the note card.
We customized the look with…
• White and fuchsia imprint
• Futura Light lettering style
• Margarita and fuchsia envelopes
Enjoy the tropical dreaming!
