Create a colorful wedding reception look

There is no one
way to accessorize your wedding reception, but tying it all together with color
is a great beginning. Need ideas?
How about accenting your celebration with a
dreamy pink punch – from the tablecloth to the colored glassware to the ribbon
ties?

Try
a vibrant, raspberry-colored tablecloth and sheer peek-a-boo organza overlay
for a sure attention-getter. White cloth napkins add a crisp, clean elegance
when placed in glassware. Scatter pink flower petals between the tablecloth and sheer organza overlay.

Create
centerpieces that are literally the center of attention. There’s nothing better
than candlelight to set
the mood. Use a glass hurricane candle holder and a
tall pillar candle to shed and reflect light at each table. The candle may be accentuated with
pink and white grosgrain ribbon to tie in your color. For added drama, tuck a rose into the knot of a white netting
bow, allowing the streamers to float on the tabletop.

initial cake top picks

A small wedding cake on each table makes a beautiful statement and is a
convenient way to serve guests. Top it off with your sparkling last name initial as a cake top, or top each cake with letters that spell sentimental words like
“always,” “forever,” “love,” etc.

Don’t
forget to cut your cake with beautiful, engraved serving pieces. Tie them with
personalized ribbon for a romantic touch.

As
a unique alternative — or a sweet addition — to your wedding cake, provide
decorated cookies in cellophane bags.
Tie them with ribbon for a pretty finishing touch.

Make
sure your favors coordinate with your color scheme inside and out! Our pink
classic favor boxes
are perfect for filling with pink sweets.

Add
punches of your color to all the areas of your reception — like by providing pink
cocktail napkins
at the bar. Go all out and create a signature drink that matches your wedding
colors!

color speaks — YOUR colorful reception will say, “Wow!”

Parisian Week Trend: Queen for a Day

A colleague of mine
just got back from Paris, where she attended an amazing wedding show, the Salon
du Mariage at the Carrousel du Louvre. She shared all her trend, inspiration
and idea discoveries with me and my team — and we're so excited to pass them
along to you on this week's blog.

I'll be highlighting
Parisian trends in wedding design, décor and style, and I'll also be showing
you how Jean M can help you incorporate those trends and make your wedding
"fantastique!"

______________________

Parisian fashion and event designers have
always had their fingers on the pulse of what women want. And from all the
glitz and glam they presented at the Salon du Mariage, it's evident that the
hearts of today's brides are absolutely a-flutter about being "Queen for a
Day!"

QueenForADay

1,2. There were dramatic, regal looks from
head to toe with gowns of lavish layers, splashes of sparkle, fluffy feathers
and rows of ruffles, and looks were finished with neo-classical style, lace-up
shoes to match!

3,4. Single, add-on elements absolutely
screamed modern royalty — like delicately feathered boas draped over shoulders
or Elizabethan-style neck ruffs paired with ultra-contemporary gowns.

5. No royal wedding would be complete without
Prince Charming, right? The Parisians went whimsical and featured Monsieur Frog
prominently — even on centerpieces!

6. Speaking of Prince Charming, there was
nary a traditional black rental tux in sight for the Parisian grooms of 2010.
Oh no. They were decked in rich, creamy brocade jackets with satin ascots…

7. …and in dapper top hats, walking sticks,
cutaway jackets and pinstriped pants worthy of attending their
"queen!"

So how do you turn these Parisian dreams into
your wedding reality? Start with an invitation worthy of your royal-style
wedding.

Love the lavish, layered look? Our "Audrey" wedding invitation
features three fabulously embossed layers all tied together with a satin
ribbon. Also check out the coordinating Audrey table number cards and Audrey menu cards.

A color story to inspire you: PINK!

When
you have your heart set on a pink wedding, know that you're in good company.
Pink is such a beautiful and romantic color that it's always remained popular
with brides, staying a steady favorite throughout the changing trends and
seasons and fashions over the years.

But
perhaps the best thing about a pink wedding is the sheer variety of shades you
can choose from. Pale petal or fuchsia, cotton candy or watermelon — or a
combination of all of those shades — pink is absolutely gorgeous!

We've

Halloween — a fun holiday AND a great wedding theme!

Halloween
isn't just for kids anymore. Adults everywhere are hosting fabulously frightful
parties and having a stylish good time on All Hallows Eve. And with the fall
tones of spice and black gaining popularity as wedding colors, it makes the
perfect theme for the autumn weddings of fun-loving brides and grooms.

DIYJeanMPartyInvite

Get
guests into the spirit right from the start with spice and black invitations. We show party wording, but you
can easily print fun wedding wording on spice and black paper. Consider this
idea:

It's no trick…

We,
John and Jessica,

will be
joined in marriage

On
Saturday, the thirty-first of October,

Two
thousand nine

…it will be a treat

to have you celebrate with us!

Accent
the invitation with spooky stickers for a party or with black stitched,
grosgrain or satin ribbon
for
a wedding — it will be the perfect finishing touch!

Then
set the scene. Fall gourds and decorated pumpkins work well for both parties
and weddings. Save the carved scary faces for parties and add unique touches to
the pumpkins for your wedding, like adding metal grommets, wire accents, carved
patterns and even masquerade masks.

 UniquePumpkins2  UniquePumpkins3

Arrange
the pumpkins and gourds outside your ceremony or reception site for a great
welcome (and if you can arrange for a little black cat to accent the scene, all
the better!). Add a touch of light by adding printed sheets of sheer paper to clear
glass candle cylinders
.
It's easy to create the sheets on your computer with words like "Witch Way
to the Party" or "Eye of Newt" for a party or
"Celebrate" and "Snuggle" for a wedding. Then print out the
sheets on your printer, trim them and slide them into the cylinders. Light a
tea light in side, and you've got a romantic glow.

 DIYCylinderInserts

Add
fun touches throughout your celebration with décor items like aluminum art spelling out words. Think
"Spooky" or "Boo!" for a party or "Welcome" and
"Romance" for a wedding. Then use the art at home for decorating
after the event.

 AluminumWords2

It's
easy to treat your guests right at a Halloween party and wedding. Start with
hot, spiced cider in classy, flared glasses to warm them up in the crisp autumn air…

 MulledCider

…and
then warm their hearts with a fun candy bar where they get to choose their own
favors! Choose candies in spice and black to match your theme and personalized favor bags and favor
boxes
or guests to use
when helping themselves.

 HalloweenCandyBar

Spice
and black, two-piece favor boxes also look great with mix-and-match lids and tied with black personalized
ribbon
. Fill the boxes
with seasonal candies to satisfy guests' sweet cravings.

 2-pcFavorBoxes

And
send guests home with packages of goodies for the road. Mix together sweet
cereal, mini marshmallows, M&Ms and peanuts, fill cellophane bags with the treats, and top the bags with spice place cards printed with “Ghoul Fuel”. Tie with black stitched ribbon and your guests will leave with smiles on their faces and great memories of
your celebration!
