Announcing…the winners of the Customize Your Wedding Contest!
There were thousands of entries for our Customize Your Wedding 2012 Bride Contest – and every single one of them described a beautiful, meaningful wedding. Deciding on only three winners was agonizing! But three brides did stand out from the crowd and today I’m announcing them to the world.
Grand Prize Winner:
Whitney King from Florida
Whitney is planning an October 2012 wedding – a casual, classy and fun event with an outdoor ceremony while the sun sets. Whitney’s story touched our hearts deeply. While recovering from a tragic car accident, she met David, who turned out to be the love of her life. David is in the Air Force and he included Whitney in his fitness plans to help her heal physically. Even though she still has a slight limp, Whitney has recovered remarkably with David’s love and help. Whitney says, “Our love is true and even at my worst, David still loves me and wants to help me. We lift each other up and help each other get back up after we fall. That’s what all marriages should have.”

Dori’s wedding to her fiancé Nate will be an August 2012, casual country event filled with homemade touches – a lemonade stand, old-fashioned lanterns and a vintage-style bar for serving drinks to guests. Dori is creating her centerpieces, floral arrangements and is also canning jams for gifts. She and Nate just started a business together, so time for wedding planning is tight. But their relationship continues to grow and they look very much forward to their wedding day!

Third Place Winner:
Annie Wignall from Iowa
In October 2012, Annie and her fiancé William will be married at the local opera house in a simple, elegant event with an “English garden” theme in a nod to William’s English heritage. Lanterns and candles will set the scene for romance. Annie is a second grade teacher who loves using her creativity to add personal touches to every occasion, and her wedding will be no different. The couple is looking forward to finally being together in the same country after the wedding. And their new life in America will be the beginning of a fairy-tale, happily-ever-after story!

I gathered up a huge selection of items I thought would be perfect for their wedding – both the modern and the traditional aspects – and presented them to Denise and Phil in person. Michele & Carl - Past Bride Search Winners
Meet Michele and her husband Carl. Michele’s story captured our hearts, and we fell in love with her dreams of an “Old Hollywood” style wedding. We had a wonderful time consulting with her and helping to make her dreams of the perfect wedding invitation and coordinating products come true.
Take a look at the beautiful items we customized just for Michele’s wedding:
1. Michele chose the gorgeous color combination of aqua and champagne shimmer paper for her invitation and other personalized paper products. We designed a layered tea length invitation to include the special peacock feather design we created just for her!
2. Cream and aqua napkins printed with Michele’s custom peacock feather design set an elegant tone at the wedding reception.
3. In lieu of favors, Michele and Carl donated to their favorite charities in honor of their guests. They printed these custom cards with notes letting guests know about their donation.
4. Champagne shimmer menu cards printed with their custom peacock feather design rested atop cloth napkins — and a real peacock feather was added for a special, luxurious touch.
5. The reception cards for the invitation were of champagne shimmer paper and featured aqua envelopes for a beautiful look.
6. The peacock feather design was incorporated into every element of the wedding, even down to the custom bubble favor tags we created for the couple! Aqua ribbon adds a bright finishing touch.
