How to create a wedding inspiration board
So many planning ideas for your wedding — but where do you put them all together?
With an inspiration board! I love the idea of adding a page in your wedding planner or using an online program like Pinterest to gather your wedding invitation favorites, photos, magazine cuttings, color swatches, flower ideas and other things you’d love to incorporate into your day.
Creating an inspiration board not only helps you get all your ideas in one place, it helps you edit your choices, too. When you have all your ideas assembled, it’s easy to see which colors won’t work with your palette, which items are must-haves and which areas need a little sparkle or a pop of color.
Here are some ideas we put together in inspiration board format — we love the pink and brown color scheme with little touches of softness in the flowers, elegance in the shoes and romance in the favor boxes.
Love what you see? Check out these products: Two-Color Damask Border Pocket Invitation in Espresso and Salmon; Layered Filigree Monogram Invitation in Salmon ; Mocha Shimmer Layered Invitation ; White Peek-a-Boo Heart Favor Boxes ; Princess Pink Ribbon.
What will your inspiration board look like? Share your ideas with us in the comments!
Enjoy getting inspired!

Planning a beach wedding? Here’s a great way to start!
When you’re planning a beach wedding, there’s so much to inspire you — the colors of the sea, the sky, the beach, the tropical flowers in bloom. Think shades of aqua, blue, taupe and brown. And don’t forget to add pops of hot shades like orange, hot pink and red for a splash.
We’ve put together a beach wedding look to inspire you when you’re choosing your own Jean M invitations and coordinating accessories.
We started with an Aqua Invitation Card printed with save the date wording and a seashell design to set the tone for the beach theme to come.
Next, we followed up with an Ecru Layered Invitation with a pocket featuring an aqua back layer and a mocha pocket. A sand dollar design adds the perfect beachy touch.
Then we added in Aqua Napkins printed with a sand dollar design and Aqua Lidded Favor Boxes accented with a starfish design.
When you’re creating your beach wedding look beyond your printed items, think flowing fabrics for bridesmaids’ attire and table linens and draping. Choose bright tropical flowers for centerpieces and floral arrangements. And don’t forget the seashells! Use them to fill favor boxes, to add to table décor and even incorporate them into your bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres.
Enjoy the beach!

Look of the Week — Wedding Invitations by Jean M
Look of the Week — Wedding Invitations by Jean M
There’s already a crisp feeling in the air, which means that fall is definitely approaching. It got us in a cozy mood, thinking of the coming changing of the leaves, drinking spiced cider, sitting by the fire. AND we started dreaming about fall invitation colors!
So we created a fall invitation look to inspire you when creating YOUR custom Jean M wedding invitation. We chose rich shades of mocha brown and copper to mimic the colors of the season and went with shimmer paper to call to mind the sparkle of autumn sunshine through leaves.
Our mocha brown and copper look of the week:
We started with our Copper Shimmer Layered Invitation and personalized it with…
• Mocha shimmer back layer
• Layout MD9 – Elegant Font
• Espresso Raised Ink
• Handle Old Style and Taylor Script lettering style combination
Get creative — and be sure to share the wedding invitation look YOU create with us on our Facebook page!
~ Enjoy the changing season!

Look of the Week – Wedding Invitations by Jean M
Who doesn’t love pink, especially when it comes to weddings? It’s such a fresh, romantic color and has so many varied shades to please everyone’s preferences and tastes. It’s also great for layering with neutrals like espresso, black, gold and silver — and for creating eye-catching looks when paired with purples, greens and even orange.
We’ve come up with a beautiful hot pink invitation look to inspire you when you’re creating YOUR custom Jean M wedding invitation! We chose the unique color combination of hot pink shimmer and ecru for softness and a bit of richness. We printed the invitation in ecru foil — light colors on darker papers is a look we specialize in, and one you can’t easily replicate at home.
Our hot pink and ecru look of the week:
We started with our Hot Pink Shimmer Layered Invitation and personalized it with…
• Ecru back layer
• Layout MD5 – Stylish Swirl
• Wording W17
• Ecru mate foil
• Baker Signet – Liorah lettering style combination
Get creative — and be sure to share the wedding invitation look YOU create with us on our Facebook page!
Enjoy the inspiration!

Get inspired! Get colorful! Create your own invitation look!
Layered looks with Jean M invitations
Some brides love layered invitations and some brides prefer a single layer with a layered look. And both brides are in luck, because Jean M invitations provide beautiful options for creating both looks!
It’s easy to get started!
Choose two papers for Jean M Mix and Match invitations — one for the bottom layer and one for the top. Go subtle with two shades of blue, pink or grey. Or be bold with completely contrasting colors like orchid and margarita or princess pink and copper shimmer.
Add to the layered, lavish look with a ribbon tied around the two layers, and arrange the invitation and all your enclosure cards in a colorful pocket.
Here are a few layered invitations with lavish looks from our Mix and Match collection — get inspired, get colorful and create your own layered look!
Get a layered look without adding extra paper with our Jean M Designer invitations! You get to choose the color of the border design for a custom look. Match the design with the designer color you choose for your wording, or contrast, mix and match colors. Add ribbons and pockets for an extra splash of style.

“Natural” Weddings: Sharing your eco-friendly values.
At Jean M, we’re as concerned about the environment as you are, and we believe that “green” weddings — no matter what your wedding color — are beautiful!
You’ll be happy to know that most of our papers are made from 30% post-consumer fibers from certified production facilities. So you’ll be able to send a Jean M wedding invitation ensemble, including wedding invitations, enclosures and envelopes, that captures your wedding colors and your style while also letting you rest easy that you’re doing your part to protect our environment.
Here are some of the beautiful examples made from recycled paper — just look at all this environmentally friendly, gorgeous color!
Looking for more ways to “go green” at your wedding? Check out some of my favorite tips!
• Celebrate your wedding in a natural environment like your backyard, in a vineyard or at a park. You’ll have built-in ambience and décor, reducing the need for lots of decorations and wasteful materials.
• Give “green” favors like seed packets printed with a cute verse and accented with ribbon, or bulbs or tiny trees wrapped in recycled favor bags.
• Use potted plants, trees and shrubs as ceremony and reception decorations. Plant them in your own yard after the wedding, or give them away as gifts at the end of your celebration.
• Use fresh fruits as centerpieces and they can double as favors. For example, use large vases of apples for a fall wedding and invite guests to take an apple as a favor with cards printed with “Enjoy!”
• Make a donation to your favorite charity in lieu of favors but remember to have a few recycled paper donation cards (our Jean M reception cards are perfect for this purpose!) printed for each table to not that you’ve donated in guests’ honor. Dress up your donation cards with rhinestones and ribbons for a pretty look. Also ask that guests make donations to your favorite charity in lieu of gifts.
Here are a few more…
• Collect wedding programs, place cards and menu at the end of your celebration for recycling.
• Environmentally friendly transportation is thoughtful and will always be remembered. You and your husband could arrive and leave in a horse-drawn carriage, an electric car or even on a tandem bicycle.
• Borrow items such as your jewelry and veil rather than buying them. Have your dress made from organic cotton or silk, or buy a vintage gown and have it altered. And choose dresses your bridesmaids will actually wear again.
• Donate leftovers to your local homeless shelter.
By making wise choices and spending your budget on eco-friendly products and services, you’ll have a beautiful wedding AND make a difference to our planet!
Enjoy!

Your Wedding. Your Personality. Top Ten Colors Revealed!
Jean M brides reveal the top 10 wedding colors!
We recently asked our Facebook brides about the colors they’ve chosen for their 2011-2012 weddings, and they told us all about the colors they’re loving. What got us really excited is that brides didn’t just list one color — they listed up to THREE colors in combination to create rich and unique color schemes!
Using the top ten colors listed below, examples were created to show how easy it is to design your own invitations with colors that reflect your personality, allowing those special guests a sneak peak of whats to come!
10. Brown — Brides are choosing rich brown for their main wedding colors and then pairing the shade with surprisingly beautiful colors like dark blue and turquoise. Ecru and gold are another hot accent for brown.
9. Midnight Blue — Brides are getting bold with midnight blue! They’re accenting it with unique colors like orange, light green, turquoise and dark pink for an unforgettable splash.
8. Gold — All that glitters is indeed gold for our brides! Gold and ivory, gold and midnight blue, gold and red…they all topped turned up on our Top 10 color list.
7. Silver — Silver and its cousin shades of pewter and stainless remain popular, especially when paired with all shades of pink, orange and purple.
6. Green — Brides are going green, in a beautiful way! They’re adding green to purple, orange and black to make fresh and exciting wedding color palettes.
5. Orange — Navy, fuchsia, yellow, green, red, purple…what color DOESN’T go with orange for today’s weddings, according to our daring brides? We especially love it for a tropical look for a destination wedding.
4. Red — Red goes racy when combined with orange, elegant when paired with silver, and dramatic when mixed with black for today’s weddings.
3.Yellow — Brides are going bright and inspirational with yellow! They’re mixing it with pink, blue, green, orange, navy, turquoise and steely pewter for a variety of moods perfect for their weddings.
2. Pink — There’s no surprise that brides are still loving pink for their weddings: it’s one of the most romantic colors around! What did surprise us, though, is how they’re combining it with other colors to make it unique to their special days. Pink and pewter, pink and orange, pink with zebra stripes, pink and margarita green, pink and black, pink and navy blue — go colorful brides!
and number one…………….
1. Black and White — It’s classic, it’s versatile, it’s perfect for so many brides and so many wedding styles! They’re accenting it with a bright pop of color like red, yellow, fuchsia or green, or dressing it up with a hint of metallic gold or silver. Black and white, like a stylish tuxedo, is always in style!
We’re so happy to be able to offer you and all of our brides the colorful wedding invitation options you crave with our Jean M Mix and Match Invitations and our Jean M Designer Invitations! You get to choose your paper colors, your pocket colors, your ink color and your Designer colors for printing to create just the right wedding invitation to set the tone for your colorful day.
