Create clever napkin folds for the perfect finishing touch!

For a celebration that looks like it was planned to perfection, use colorful napkins to create a polished look. We’ve come up with a few clever ways to use napkins in your place settings that will delight guests with your attention to detail — check them out and see which look is right for your wedding reception. Remember to personalize your napkins  with your choice of design for a look that coordinates with your wedding style and theme.

Napkin fold: cute cones!

1. Fold your napkins into a cone shape to use for treats like popcorn, mixed nuts and candy. Wrap two opposite corners of the napkin together, staple or tie with ribbon and you’ll have an adorable pouch for goodies. Display the cones in baskets or trays so guests can help themselves.

Napkin fold: silverware wrap!

2. Dress up your place settings by wrapping a napkin around your silverware. This puts your personalization on display and provides a creative touch to your place settings.

Napkin fold: glassware accents!

3. Add a decorative touch to your toasting flutes and glasses on your reception tables by adding napkins to them. Fold the napkins into cones or fluff them out for a fancier look.

Napkin fold: layered look!

4. Create a layered look and provide guests with the convenience of two napkins by layering a personalized paper napkin over a cloth dinner napkin. This gives you the opportunity to add even more color and style to your tables.

As a general rule, order two napkins  per guests to make sure you have enough. Order cocktail napkins to have at your bar and cake table and dinner napkins for your meal. Mix and match colors for a custom, colorful look.

Enjoy!

The best way to end your wedding reception

You've surely thought of every detail to make your wedding reception perfect: the décor, the food, the beverages, the cakes the favors, the dance music.

But have you thought about how your reception should END? Remember, a well-planned event doesn't just fizzle out and cause guests to wander out aimlessly. It leaves guests delighted with one last surprise that causes them to remember your wedding forever.

How do you do it? Delight guests by setting up a coffee or hot chocolate bar just as the dance is ending! They'll love the little treat to refresh themselves after kicking up their heels, and they'll relish devouring the treats on the way home.

  DonutBagelBar

Have a selection of gourmet coffees and hot chocolates ready for guests to pour into take-away cups, and arrange donuts and bagels on pretty silver trays or in vases for guests to help themselves to. Don't forget to order personalized napkins and cellophane bags or favor bags for guests to use when serving themselves. Add printed menu cards to encourage guests to enjoy! Or, you could package donuts or bagels and a hot chocolate or coffee packet in a cellophane bag, add a personalized seal and a ribbon, and send guests off with a sweet treat they can enjoy in the morning.

Bride Search Winner Michele shares wedding photos and tells us about her day!

We’ve
just gotten these gorgeous photos from Michele and Carl’s wedding and we
couldn’t wait to share them with you! The “Old Hollywood” theme of Michele and
Carl’s wedding comes through perfectly in these beautiful shots.

Michelle
says: “The most important advice I have for brides is to save every single
moment of your wedding day! Our photographer made sure we stopped throughout
the day to take in the excitement of the wedding. These moments became our
favorites. In one of them, after I threw my bouquet out a window overlooking
the dance floor, we held hands and looked out the window and saw all of our
guests dancing the night away. I said to Carl, ‘Look at all of our
guests…they’re having such a wonderful time at our wedding!’ “

Jean M Bride Search Winner

1.
Michele’s bouquet of blush roses and peonies perfectly accents her white,
fitted wedding gown.

2.
The glamorous bridesmaids were dressed in champagne and deep red for a classic,
dramatic look.

3.
Are these Carl’s groomsmen or are they a modern-day rat pack?

4.
Carl in his classic tux and Michele in a fur coat both exude Old Hollywood
elegance.

5.
The happy couple — Michele and Carl!

Michele
tells us that their wedding day was perfect because of their careful planning
and attention to every detail. She also loved the products and special touches
Jean M helped her add. “The Jean M team really helped me choose the items that
added an elegant touch to our wedding. The peacock feather design on all of our
items was a little reminder of the day we got engaged. The cocktail napkins,
menu cards and matches helped bring all of the elements of our wedding together
at the reception. We saved the extra cocktail napkins and will use them every
year on our anniversary. We also promised to light our unity candle every year
on our anniversary for a reminder of our wedding day.”

To
see some of the products we created for Michele and Carl’s wedding, see our blog
post on July 30th.

Congratulations,
Michele and Carl. We loved being a part of your wedding day!

One Sweet Week – Treat your groom to a cake of his own!

It’s
easy to get caught up the frills and the beauty of wedding cake planning. But
don’t forget an important person who deserves a cake of his own — your groom!

The
sky’s the limit when coming up with a theme for your groom’s cake. Think about
his hobbies, the sports teams he loves, his profession, his pet and then ask
your baker to get creative and design a cake your groom will love digging into
with the guys!

Here
are some fun ideas and some questions to get you thinking about what kind of
cake to design for YOUR groom.

Grooms Cake Ideas
(all
photos: Get Married)

1,5.
Does he play sports or still cheer for his alma mater’s team (Arkansas
Razorbacks or Georgia Bulldogs, anyone)? Put the mascot on the cake and bring
back lots of memories.

2.
Is he a gambling man or does he love to travel? Come up with a cake theme that
shows his adventurous side.

3.
Are you wine lovers? A grape- and wine-themed cake will be perfect!

4.
Is he an avid fisherman? Show it on his cake, and you’re sure to remind him
that you’re his best catch ever!

6.
Is he a student or a teacher? He’ll love hitting the books when they’re on a
cake this sweet!

7.
Have you just bought your first home, or is he a realtor? Build a cake from
that theme!

8.
Does he have a sweet tooth? Recreate his favorite treat on his cake and you’ll
have him smiling!

9.
What’s his profession? Bring in elements of his work into the cake (think:
carpenter, fireman, writer, computer whiz, etc.)

Grooms dinner ideas

Once
you’ve decided on the theme and design for your groom’s cake, add fun elements
that will create a great experience!

1.
Let’s say your man’s favorite drink is a Jack and Coke. The cake could be a
barrel of whiskey…

2.  you could print cocktail napkins with his favorite drink recipe…

3.
and you could give groomsmen a great gift of a personalized flask and a flared glass full of delicious treats.

DIY your way to a gorgeous harvest-theme wedding!

Fall
is just around the corner, and we’re getting inspired for some DIY projects
you’ll “fall” in love with. They’re easy to create and will add the perfect
touches of warmth, color and beauty to your harvest-theme celebration.

Autumn and fall wedding theme ideas

1.
Adding rich colors right from the start — like with your wedding invitation
— will set the perfect tone for your warm and wonderful autumn wedding. Layer
espresso and cream papers and add not one, but TWO ribbons for a look that’s ultra-luxurious! Create this DIY look yourself with our blank
card stock

and ribbons, or order our Jean invitation printed and assemble it yourself for DIY fun without all the work!

2.
Spice paper mimics the fall foliage — especially when you add espresso ribbon and a pretty, gold leaf charm! These cute cards are easy to create yourself
with our blank card stock.

3.
Give your guests a warm and cozy treat to beat the autumn chill with glasses of
hot spiced cider. Dip the rims of flared cocktail glasses in sugar for a sweet touch, and float clove oranges for flavor. Don’t forget
the cocktail napkins!

4.
Natural tones are perfect for bringing in autumn flair to your wedding. These
cute, natural favor boxes are fun to dress up with raffia, ribbon and leaf favor tags printed with your names or a cute message. Cut the leaves from our blank
card stock
, or order printed leaf favor tags and add them to your DIY favors for a finishing touch.

5.
Put your DIY favors center stage with a great presentation with wedding
favors
. Wrap your treats in cellophane bags, add printed seals, and layer the favors in wooden trays or baskets lined with faux leaves or a
scattering of nuts.

Happy
autumn and have fun DIY-ing!

Jean M Invitations and Accessories

We
thought you'd love to have a peek at some of the beautiful products we
custom-designed for Bride Search Winner Michele's wedding on April 17, 2010!
Michele is classy and stylish, and she wanted her wedding to reflect those
qualities. So we worked together to create the designs, styles and color
combinations that would create the perfect look for her day.

1. Michele chose
the gorgeous color combination of aqua and champagne shimmer paper for her
invitation and other personalized paper products. We re-designed our Grace
Layered Wedding  Invitation
to include the special peacock feather design we created just for her! (If
you'd like to incorporate this design into your wedding, or if you'd like
to order this invitation style, please call customer service at
1-800-766-8595.)

2. Cream and aqua wedding napkins printed with Michele's custom peacock feather design set an elegant tone
at the wedding reception.

3. In lieu of
favors, Michele and Carl donated to their favorite charities in honor of
their guests. They printed these custom cards with notes letting guests
know about their donation.

4. Champagne
shimmer menu cards printed with their custom peacock feather design rested atop cloth napkins
— and a real peacock feather was added for a special, luxurious touch.

5. The wedding enclosure cards for the invitation were of champagne shimmer paper and featured aqua
envelopes for a beautiful look.

6. The peacock
feather design was incorporated into every element of the wedding, even
down to the custom bubble favor tags
we created for the couple! Aqua grosgrain ribbon adds a bright finishing touch.

and Carl's beautiful, glamorous wedding!

Top 3 Money Saving Ideas: Ditch these wedding “shoulds” and save money!

Is
your wedding budget feeling stretched because of all the things you think you
"should" include in your celebration? Well, consider doing away with
these three "shoulds" and let your budget take a breather!

wedding napkins

Should #1: You should have
cloth linens at your reception tables.

Budget Saver: Paper wedding napkins are economical (cocktail napkins are just $26 per 100 and dinner napkins are
only $28 per 100), and they're just as lovely as cloth napkins! Napkins are
available in colors sure to match your table linens and best of all, they're
personalized to coordinate with your wedding theme and style!  If you need ideas on wedding themes, we have a variety of ideas for you.

wedding favors

Should #2: You should treat
guests to elaborate favors to thank them for celebrating with you.

Budget Saver: Even the simplest wedding favors
— like our classic favor box (just $18 per 50) filled with yummy treats — will tell guests you appreciate
them. If you fall in love with a more elaborate favor, consider giving one
favor per couple and check out our stylish wedding favor boxes!

Should #3: You should hire a
calligrapher to address your invitation envelopes, or you should learn
calligraphy and address your envelopes yourself.

Budget Saver: Using Jean M's Customized
Envelope Addressing Service

will not only save you money over hiring a calligrapher (costs are as low as
$55 per 100), it will save you the hassle of addressing all your inner and
outer invitation envelopes yourself! Click here for complete information.
